Asia Argento and Ashton Whitty

Asia Argento was raised in Rome by a film-maker and actor family. She pursued both professions herself. At nine years of age the actress made her film debut alongside Sergio Citti in Sogni e bisogni. The role she played was the main one in the film of Cristina Comencini's Zoo (1988) and appeared as a part of Michele Savi's 1989 film The Church. Later in the year, she was Nanni Moretti's daughter Red Wood Pigeon (1989) (also directed by Moretti). Close Friends (1992), directed and written by Michele Placido was the film which launched Asia's career profession. She was able move from roles of a young girl to more mature and complicated roles. Cannes International Film Festival received the film well. The Phantom of the Opera was her third collaboration with the father of her. Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome were her previous two. The Phantom of the Opera, which was made by her late father The Phantom of the Opera is the third three movies she's been involved in. The other two were Trauma as well as The Stendhal Syndrome. Giuseppe Piccioni used her absorbed and intense manner of acting in Condannato, a nozze. Patrice Chereau was the director. Queen Margot for which she also played an important part. She worked again with Michel Piccoli on Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion in 1995, which earned her another David di Donatello role as and the title Grolla D'oro. Asia started directing as a career in 1994. Her first short film was Prospettive. A documentary she created about her dad and then Abel/Asia (1998) the film that won a prize at the Rome Film Festival, were the two films she directed from 1996 to 1998. Asia produced her first feature film Scarlet Diva (2000). The film was made in collaboration with Asia as well as screenwriter/actress Linda McCartney. In May 2000, the film premiered in Italy and around the globe. The film won an award at the Williamsburg Film Festival in Brooklyn, New York. Anna Lou, the first of two daughters she has was born in the month of January of 2001. In 2002, she appeared in The Red Siren by Olivier Megaton with Jean-Marc Barr and the action thrilledirected by Rob Cohen, with Vin Diesel. Asia can also be the creator of a number of short stories, which have appeared in numerous high-end magazines.
